Carlos at Gran Canaria Marathon 2017
Here’s Carlos reportage of the last race in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Last 22 of January, at 11:30 am started the shorter and explosive category of “Gran Canaria Marathon 2017”. I ran the 10 km marathon, with others many runners and new colors for the race bib of my new team DISA-HPS Triathlon.
The trial scene, a urban circuit that passed through the main streets of Las Palmas, starting in front of Las Arenas shopping center, crossing all Mesa Y Lopez avenue, Santa Catalina square, part of la isleta and the harbor and finally passing throughout all Las Canteras avenue and ending behind the Alfredo Kraus’s Auditorium.
I had to get out from the third group of start due to a mistake in the verification of my starting time, so the race started in way totally awkward and slow, having to avoid a lot of people in almost 2 km. After overtaking the biggest group of runners, I could take more rhythm and freedom in movements reaching the target pulsation, for the trial, that I had set up before with my trainer, trying strategies of monitoring the rhythm of the competition. Nevertheless the day didn’t go in the way it was supposed to be and although apparently in good conditions, my body didn’t work as it used to do in the previous training weeks, blisters in my feet and a small discomfort with my stomach played some role in this unfavourable situation that I didn’t expect to experience.
Finally I finished the race in 40’, far beyond our expectations although appreciating a progress in the technic of the race and a considerable control of rhythm. It hasn’t been my best day but we will use this experience to get better and find possible mistake to fix and to continue learning and getting better, thanks to perseverance, sacrifice, training and a good control of diet with MoringaON helpig me in providing superfoods :).
Thank you Carlos for your reportage,
continue like this, with your perseverance and passion in what you do!
