What is golden milk? Golden Milk is a tasteful healthy drink with a lot of benefits. Golden milk is recommended for those who have problems on their joints and for those who look for natural anti inflammatory.
The main ingredient in this elixir is turmeric. Turmeric contains curcumin, polyphenol that is identified as the essential active ingredient. It has amazing therapeutic benefits and also includes antioxidants, anti-inflammatories and anti-cancer properties.

How to prepare Golden Milk:
Step 1 – Turmeric Paste
- 1/4 cup of turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper
- 1/2 cup of filtered water
Mix all ingredients in a small cooking pot and stir well. Turn the heat to a medium and mix constantly until the mixture becomes a thick paste. It does not take a long time, so do not leave the stove. Let the mixture cool off, and then keep it in a small jar in the refrigerator.
Once you’ve made your golden paste, you’re ready to make golden milk.
Step 2 – Golden Milk
- 1 cup of almond milk (hemp milk or coconut milk are also a good option)
- 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
- 1/4 (or more) teaspoon of turmeric paste
- Raw Honey
Optional: one teaspoon of Vanilla powder .*
Mix all ingredients in a cooking pot, except the honey. Turn the heat to medium. While you are heating the mixture, you must stir constantly and do not let it boil. Add honey according to your taste.
*I suggest to add a teaspoon of Vanilla in the Golden Milk beacuse it’s a potent antioxidant, Ancient Mayans believed that adding vanilla in drinks would give aphrodisiac effects. Vanilla may prove effective in soothing inflammation as well due to its antioxidant properties. Vanilla beans are one of the expensive non-pungent spices used especially as a flavoring agent in wide array of sweet-drinks and confectionaries.
Its extract contains small amounts of B-complex groups of vitamins such as niacin, pantothenic acid, thiamin, riboflavin and vitamin B-6. These vitamins help in enzyme synthesis, nervous system function and regulating body metabolism.
