V Desafio Octava Isla of La Graciosa
February 27, 2016
Named the “Future of Triathlon”, Carlos Sosa Henriquez, the 18 years old Canarian triathlete champion, won the Elite Triathlon at the 5th Desafio Octava Isla (La Graciosa, Canary Islands – Spain) .
The triathlon at La Graciosa is one of those challenge that any sport and nature lover would like to participate. The trial consisted of 1000m swim in Caleta del Sebo – La Graciosa’s harbour, approximately 20km bike almost all around the island, passing through stunning beaches, land tracks, white sandy roads and stones roads in other parts. Carlos had to fight against high wind gusts from the storm, cross the few houses on the island and do the 6km race walk in the south along the coast and across large esplanades of sand which were difficult to cross at high speed.
He had to set up the trial in a very clever way because he had to leave the opponents as far back as possible to get an advantage, but considering that he needed to save energy to start the bike circuit that was very hard because of the wind.
Alone, after leaving behind the other competitors. Carlos had to fight against the weather conditions without any assistance to get down and run in first position. Finally he could not keep up with his opponents in the race and arrived 4th in the General and First in the Elite.
Carlos commented “Happy with the progression I’m having through my workouts and with my superfood sport program and “warming up” for the 2016 season”.
Carlos follows the MoringaON Superfood Sport Program studied for him called “ 25 Days Intensive Training Pack”.
